This beautiful map was made by the famous cartographer Isaac Tirion who lived between 1650 -1730. He was born in Amsterdam but moved to Italy where he became a professor of geography at the University of Bologna. His maps were published in several books including "Atlas geographica" which contained many maps of Europe, Africa, Asia and America. This particular map shows the kingdom of Persia or Iran. The map has been beautifully engraved using copper plates and then printed onto paper. The map measures approximately 12 x 9 inches. The map is professionally framed by RS Gallery and Framing in Palo Alto, California.
